How Do I Change the Spacing of Scene Headings?

You can adjust the spacing of scene headings in the Settings menu.

1. Access the Settings menu with the keyboard short cut ⌘ , or by clicking the Settings ‘gear icon’ in the top right and then clicking ‘All settings’
2. Select ‘Scene’ in the left column under ‘Element formatting’
3. Use the dropdown menu labeled ‘Spacing before’ to adjust how many empty lines you’d like above your scene headings:
1. 0 lines: (no empty lines above the scene heading)
2. 1 line: double spaced (one empty line above)
3. 1½ lines: (1.5 empty lines above)
4. 2 lines: triple spaced (2 empty lines above)
5. Page break: Start each scene on a new page
