We launched our biggest redesign to date, adding a top-bar, an all-new focus mode, overhauled change marks, and tons of tweaks to make your writing experience more intuitive.
Here’s what you need to know to continue writing without having to look for tools that we moved around a bit inside the app:
- Moving between Plot Board and Script
- The Desk button was moved to the top
- Export and Document Settings now live in the top bar
- Script title is now always visible in the top-bar
- The all-new Focus Mode
- Change Marks redefined
If you prefer video, here’s a walkthrough:
Moving between Plot Board and Script
We consolidated the buttons to move between Plot Board and script view in the upper-right corner, for more intuitive access to the Plot Board:
The Desk button was moved to the top
We move the Desk-button (where you find all your scripts) to the top-left corner.
Export and Document Settings now live in the top bar
We moved the Export and Document Settings buttons out of the sidebar, into the top-bar.
Script title is now always visible in the top-bar
It’s now always obvious which script you’re working on, from glancing at the top-bar:
The all-new Focus Mode
We greatly improved the focus mode: You can get rid of all the toolbars with the shortcut Cmd+D
or Ctrl+D
to fully focus on your script. But all the toolbars will still appear if you move your mouse in their direction. You get the best of both worlds: Distraction-free interface, but access to your tools when you need it.
Change Marks redefined
We completely overhauled change marks: You see immediately what changes you are highlighting (if any) in the top-bar, and can start marking changes from there. We also give you options to track by author (who did what), or revision colors (when were the changes made).
This is the broad overview to get you started, we hope you enjoy the all new editing experience!
