You can Find and Replace words in your script. This is a common way of changing a character’s name throughout the script.
Press CMD + F (Windows: CTRL + F) to search your script.
- Enter the term you want to find and replace.
- Toggle
Advancedto change advanced settings like case matching (whether it’s capitalized or not), only matching whole words, and preserving the case when a word is replaced. You can also specify which script elements you want to search. - This will search your entire document, including the script, notes, comments, stash entries, alternates, and beats on the board. If you only want to find and replace in one specific part of your document, click on that. For instance, to only find and replace in the script, click
Script. - Toggle
Replaceand enter the word you want to swap in. - You will see all the instances of the initial search in the results field. To replace just one instance, select the instance you want to replace and choose
Replace one. To replace all instances selectReplace all.
